For two weeks in New Orleans, the who's who of music converges upon the New Orleans Fair Grounds.  While it's called the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, you will walk away from even one day hearing much more than just jazz.  Of course New Orleans favorites like Dr. John and the Neville Brothers will be there, but it's international stars like Tom Jones, Bon Jovi, and Robert Plant that really draw music enthusiasts from all over the world.

The Jazz Fest has released their 2011 lineup, and you are sure to find something to suit your musical taste.

Quint Davis, producer/director of Jazz Fest said, “The 2011 Jazz Fest lineup will deliver an unprecedented balance of the traditional and the contemporary, in all of the many music categories the Festival presents: from Bon Jovi, Sonny Rollins and Arcade Fire to Jimmy Buffett, Kid Rock, John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson to Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Strokes and Robert Plant and on and on, along with the unending list of New Orleans super talents. This lineup reminds us that the artists we grew up with are now the icons of today, and that today’s new heroes are tomorrow’s heritage. We’re honored to be able to once again celebrate the soul of America as only New Orleans and the Jazz Fest can.”

Every year I want to go, and every year I find a reason not too.  Hopefully this year will be different.  Let's face it, even artists who aren't on tour find their way on one of the Jazz Fests' many stages.  If you do plan on going, book your room now!  Hotel availabilities will be gone before you know it.  See the full line up and the latest news at nojazzfest.com.
