Soon you will see a whole new crop of police officer in the five parish area out in the public serving and protecting us.

The 120th basic law enforcement academy will graduate this Thursday, November 29th in Lake Charles.

According to Kim Myers with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, the class consists of 43 cadets.

Myers said the new police officers are from several Southwest Louisiana agencies from:

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office, Coushatta Tribal Police, Fenton Police Department, Harbor Police Department, Iowa City Police Department, Jefferson Davis Sheriff’s Office, Jennings City Police Department, Lake Arthur City Police, Lake Charles Fire Department, Lake Charles Police Department, Rayne Police Department, Sulphur Police Department, and Welsh Police Department are participating in this graduating class.
