Congratulations to the new members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

It was just announced today the the latest inductees for 2013 are Bobby Bare, the Veterans Era inductee, "Cowboy" Jack Clement, the Non-Performer inductee, and the Modern Era inductee, Kenny Rogers. I was working in Nashville on Music Row when I first met Kenny Rogers. This was in the late 70's and he was the hottest thing going in Country Music at that time with hits like "The Gambler", Lucille" and many more. The building I worked in on Music Row was the United Artist Building which was owned by the label Kenny recorded for. Well one morning I was coming to work and got on the elevator with another person and after the door closed I looked up and saw that it was Kenny Rogers. This was my first and only experience of being "star struck". After telling him who he was and probably some other stupid babbling, the elevator stops on my floor but I forgot to get off and rode all the way up to the penthouse suite with Kenny. He got off and I didn't. Later I would meet him again at a concert in Lake Charles and was a little more adult about it. Congratulations Kenny Rogers and the other inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
