Election season came to an end months ago (thank goodness), but President Obama hasn't been inaugurated for his second term just yet. On January 21, several celebs will descend on the White House to perform during the president's official welcome while the nation watches at home. An avid Obama supporter, Kelly Clarkson will be there to sing her heart out.

Of all the country singers who might perform at the inauguration, Clarkson is a pretty good choice. Back in October, the former 'American Idol' champion announced that she was going to vote for Obama in the 2012 Presidential election -- largely due to her desire to support gay marriage rights in the U.S.

“Obama is a great guy. I’ve met him and I’m a fan of Michelle too. She has been busy promoting better education and healthy diets, which is something we could all use a dose of reality on,” Clarkson said at the time.

According to USA Today, on Jan. 21 the 'Don't Rush' singer will join Beyonce and James Taylor onstage at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol. Beyonce will sing the National Anthem, while Taylor will chime in with 'America the Beautiful.'

Clarkson will lend her country crossover vocals to 'My Country, 'Tis of Thee.' At Obama's first inauguration in January 2009, infamous soul diva Aretha Franklin sang the tune. That means Clarkson has a lot to live up to -- but we're sure she can handle the pressure.

The performances will take place throughout the public swearing-in ceremony on the steps of the Capitol. Then, Obama will deliver his second inaugural address to a crowd that is estimated to top 1 million people.

President Obama will actually take his oath of office on Jan. 20, but the musical performances and public swearing-in will take place the next day.
