Former One Day at a Time star Bonnie Franklin has died. She was 69. In September, it was reported that the actress was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.

On One Day at a Time, which aired from 1975 to 1984, Franklin portrayed Ann Romano, the divorced single mother of two daughters, played by Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips. Franklin received both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her work.

Although Franklin was best known from her role on "One Day at a Time", her career began in the mid 1950's. While she was not a featured player in those early days, she did appear as a "character" on everything from "Gidget" to "The Munsters."

Not many fans know that Franklin was also a very gifted singer and was nominated for Tony awards for "All About Eve" and "Applause."

In 2011, Franklin appeared on Bertinelli’s TV Land comedy, Hot in Cleveland, and in 2012, she played a nun on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Franklin passed away today at home in California.
