It was another great night for Southwest Louisiana Football fans. The weather was perfect to invite someone over and then give them a little taste of home cooking. That's exactly what the Cowboys and Tigers did last night.

The Cowboys hosted Arkansas Pine Bluff. There was a large and fired up crowd on hand at Cowboy Stadium for the season home opener. The first quarter was close but then the Pokes took control of the game and rolled to another impressive victory (58-14.) This means that two games into the season MSU is averaging over 50 points per game. These huge offensive games are giving Coach Viator a chance to play his second and third string players. This experience could really benefit the team later in the season. The Cowboys also come out of game two with no serious injuries. LSU's offense was roaring on the other side of the state.

While McNeese had their way with UAPB; across the state Tiger's Quarterback Mettenberger ties a school record with five touchdown passes against University of Alabama at Birmingham. The Tigers had no problem rolling to a 56-17 victory. The game even featured a Tiger 100 yard missed field goal return for a touchdown! It seems that both of our college teams are having fun and rolling early in the season. Now let's see if our Saints can join the victory parade.
