Randy didn't get noticed nationally until the release of his highly successful first album "Storms of Life" which spawned the hits "1982 and On the other hand".

In the late 1980s he had a string of hits, including "No Place Like Home" and "Diggin' Up Bones". A song from his second Warner Brothers album Always and Forever spwned the mega hit titled "Forever and Ever, Amen".

On July 7, 2013, Randy Travis was admitted to a Dallas area hospital for viral cardiomyopathy after a viral upper respiratory infection. Three days later, Travis suffered a stroke and had to undergo brain surgery.

Since then, Travis has been recovering and it has never been disclosed if he will ever be at 100% aain or be able to ever tour and perform again.

Happy Birthday Randy.  Thanks for the memories and great music!
