The preseason rolls on. The games aren't pretty. The action is not crisp. It is a necessary evil though; especially with a team went through so much change and controversy in the off season. The Saints are learning a new defense with new players. The Saints are also without their head coach! So how are things in Saint's camp? Saints interim Head Coach Joe Vitt answered some of those questions in his last press conference.

One of the players the Saints need to step up is Jonathan Casillas. When healthy he is all world! The question is can he stay healthy all year. Vitt responded with "He’s worked hard in the weight room and he’s worked hard this off season to get himself stronger and to work towards that durability factor, but the key with him is staying on the field.”

When ask about receivers dropping passes Vitt replied "I think number one, it’s a lack of concentration.  Number two, it’s a lack of ball security.  Number three, it’s hot.  They’re getting tired, they’re getting worn out and you have to work through these dog days of training camp.  It’s certainly not acceptable.  Those balls have to be caught."

Saints Offensive Coordinator Pete Carmichael commented "I would say at this point we want to see a little more consistency."

The Saints take on the Jaguars Friday in The Louisiana Superdome.
