If you were ever looking for a reason to buy Tupperware before the holidays, here it is! According to the American Farm Bureau, the price of Thanksgiving dinner will be 13 percent higher this year than last, marking the biggest jump since 1990.

While everything — from the cranberries to the sweat potatoes to pumpkin pie mix — will be more costly in 2011, most of the rise in price can be attributed to the turkey, which is 22 percent more expensive than it was last year.

Overall, a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 will cost $49.20 in 2001, or $4.92 a person.

The farm bureau comes to these figures using a network of volunteer shoppers who buy ingredients at stores dispersed throughout the nation.
