Sheriff Mancuso Cautions Calcasieu Parish Residents Regarding Rumors On Social Media

In a press release on July 19, 2016 Sheriff Tony Mancuso cautions community members about rumors people are reading and posting on social media.

Some of the social media posts have warned residents to stay away from the downtown Lake Charles for the next two weeks. But Sheriff Mancuso reassures Lake Area residents that the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office has yet been able to corroborate any of these rumored social media posts.

Sheriff Mancuso states “If you see more deputies in the downtown area, it is because we are evaluating our protocols and making adjustments where necessary. We want to assure the people of our parish that the Sheriff’s Office will notify the public immediately if we believe there is any threat to public safety.”
