Sheriff’s Office Releases Results of DWI Checkpoint

The CPSO held a DWI Checkpoint on Friday, August 31 at the 3100 block of Westwood Drive in Westlake, LA. 991 vehicles were looked at, 2 citations issued for open container, 11 field sobriety checks were administered, and 1 citation for careless operation of a vehicle.

2 arrests were made for 1st offense DWIs, an arrest was made for possession of Marijuana, and a juvenile was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The CPSO worked along side both the Sulphur and Lake Charles Police Departments.
