For 32 years in Abbeville, LA, Dupuy's Restaurant served some of the best seafood in the area. Towards the end of the 32 years, it was purchased by Bert Istre and David Bertrand with a handshake and a promise that the employees that had worked at Dupuy's would not be affected, nor would the menu change.

Today, now called Shucks!, the business is booming with the same Dupuy's menu plus a lot of amazing additions. According to Developing Lake Charles, they have now branched out and will finalize a property purchase on the Contraband Bayou. The new question is, will it be the old restaurant that has sat vacant for all these years? Or will it be a new building built on the other side of 210. I know, for a fact, that the property was for sale for quite some time by the ship yard, it would be a perfect location with the new hotels.

Only time will tell as to which side of 210 it will go on. Either way, I'm always ready for a new establishment to be build in Lake Charles!
