Skate City Announces Adult Skate Night Before Closing Forever

Skate City in Lake Charles announced they will be closing their doors forever on their Facebook Page, after serving the Lake Charles area for 37 years. They have not announced an actual close date, but they are reaching out to the community to come get their skate on just one last time before they close.

This Thursday, September 20, they will have their last "Adult Skate" night where only 18+ skaters will be allowed. As they work on an "Adult Beverage" station, they are saying it is BYOB (because booze and wheels seem like a great idea to have an after party at Urgent Care), and will be from 6pm-9pm (but the hours could extend).

The skate night will feature 80s and 90s music, and all of your Skate City Favorites. It's sad to see this legendary place close, I got my first kiss at Skate City, and also my first sprained wrist. I gave up on skating shortly after the "Sprained Wrist Incident in the Bathroom" event, and turned my focus on the goal of DJing for Skate City. Finally, after 20 years of trying, I got that chance, and was in Heaven. I still never got to ride in the red skate for my birthday.
