The City of Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish Police Jury invite all citizens out Friday March 3, 2017 to celebrate Smell The Flowers, Not The Smoke.  This is a new city ordinance that was passed in November 2016, by the Police Jury and it will go into effect on March 1, 2017, making all Parish parks and buildings smoke and tobacco free: including e-cigarettes and chewing tobacco.

To celebrate the Police Jury will host an extra Movie Under the Stars event at Prien Lake Park on Friday, March 3, 2017.  See the video below for more details.

You’re invited to bring your family and friends to a fun filled evening, surrounded by Pongo and Perdita's 99 adorable puppies.  Come out and enjoy a free viewing of the Disney classic “101 Dalmatians.”

Enjoy this timeless classic with family and friends.  Plus Animal Services and Adoption Center, will be on hand with some real-live puppies of their own.  These little darlings don't need to be rescued from Cruella De Vil, but they do need to be adopted by a loving family.  For more details, talk to one of the Animal Services representatives that will be on hand.

In the meantime you’re invited to pet, play and take photos with the puppies before the movie starting at 4 p.m..  Bring your own food and refreshments, purchase tasty treats on-site from local vendors and enjoy free popcorn provided by the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco Free Living. The movie will begin at dusk or at 6:30 p.m.  Prien Lake Park, is located at 3700 West Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles. As always be sure to bring your favorite snack, blankets, lawn chairs and wagons.  On that same note get there early, so you can get the perfect spot.

Admission is free and in the event of inclement weather, the movie will be canceled.
