UL Football To Honor Mickey Shunick With Helmets Decals

The University of Louisiana Lafayette football program has announced that they will honor former UL student Mickey Shunick this season by putting decals on their football helmets. The team will wear the decals on the helmets all season long to honor Mickey.

Our sister station in Lafayette, Hot 107.9, is reporting that the Ragin’ Cajuns head coach is supporting tribute fully.

Alabama Fan Abuses Passed Out LSU Fan [VIDEO]

After Alabama beat LSU 21-0 in the National Championship, tons of fans flooded Bourbon Street in New Orleans to celebrate.

One LSU fan who was passed out at a restaurant in New Orleans was captured on video being hazed and abused by Alabama fans. The Alabama fans seen in the video put trash on the passed out fan and one fan in particular then rubs his genitals on the unknowing fan.

Les Miles Named AP Coach Of The Year

Head coach of the LSU Tigers football program, Les Miles, has been named the 2011 Associated Press Coach of the Year.

Les received 30 of the 56 votes to win the honor. Bill Snyder of Kansas State was second with 16, Mike Gundy of Oklahoma State was third with six.

Miles has led the LSU Tigers to a 13-0 record and a berth in the national championship game on January 9th in New Orleans against Alabama.

The #1 ranked LSU Tigers beat the Georgia Bulldogs 42-10 Saturday afternoon to win the Southeastern Conference Championship and punched their ticket to the National Championship game.

It was made official last night when ESPN announced that the #1 ranked LSU Tigers would be in the BCS National Championship game and would take on #2 Alabama on January 9th in New Orleans.

The #1 ranked LSU Tigers took care of business last Friday, beating then-No. 3 Arkansas 41-17, securing their spot in the SEC Championship. The Tigers will play No. 12 Georgia this Saturday.

All of the polls were released yesterday, and the Tigers are still #1 in all the polls -- plus, they widened their gap from first to second place in all polls.

Breaking News: LSU Suspends Mathieu, Ware and Simon

As the Tigers turn! Just when LSU was getting over the whole Jordan Jefferson scandal, another issue has now arisen.

The Associated Press and ESPN are reporting that LSU has suspended star cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, along with defensive back Therold Simon and running back Spencer Ware for this Saturday's home game against Auburn.

It is unknown if the suspensions will last further than this Saturday's game -- and right now, the school isn't releasing WHY the three are benched.
