Citizens of Lake Arthur are watching the weather carefully and watching the rising Mermentau River diligently. The river is already six feet above flood stage and more rain is in the forecast.
Flood conditions are getting worse for Jeff Davis and Acadia parish residents along the Mermentau River. In Lake Arthur, the levees were topped over the weekend, making many road impassable. Because of that, a curfew for residents is still in place.
