Tax free weekend begins tomorrow, I can't wait to hit the ground running.  I have been waiting for this day for months, the two-day shopping spree that does not break the bank.  The perfect weekend to get those school uniforms, school supplies, new lunch kit, or a new Coach bag.  Yep, Mama can buy her a gift too.  Can't spend all the money on the kiddos.

Each year the Louisiana Department of Revenue declares a "tax free weekend" for any and all purchases not exceeding $2,500 (so no new cars or homes are included).  I, for one, am gong to enjoy this tax free weekend.  My kids are grow, so no school uniforms for me, but I can buy those new shoes I want and the new towels I need at Bed Bath & Beyond.  Walmart, Target, JCPenney, Kmart, and various local stores are ready for us shoppers. Even Starbucks is getting into the fun, tax free frappucinos for everyone!

A few tips for saving extra money shopping this weekend:  I always make a plan, listing major purchases I need and then where the savings are.  I then compare prices with various different stores, and I always use coupons to maximize the savings.  Kohls is offering their "bucks" this weekend, up to $10 for each purchase. Might even be a good time to start on my Christmas present list?  Eh, who am I kidding.  I don't start that shopping until Christmas Eve.
