What do you mean the Titanic was not sunk by an iceberg? I feel like my life is a lie!

In a new documentary by Senan Molony, the author suggests that it was actually a fire that caused the R.M.S. Titanic to sink, not an iceberg.

In Titanic: The New Evidence, which aired on New Year's Day, Senan Molony claims the tragic sinking of the Titanic was due to a fire inside one of the coal bunkers. In the documentary he draws evidence from pictures taken of the ship in April 1912, sayipng "they show a mark on the White Star ocean liner’s starboard side near the seat of the fire, and the point of the collision."

While an iceberg still plays a part in the sinking of the Titanic, according to Molony, it's the fire inside of the coal bunkers that led to an accelerated the sinking rate, which meant the ship "couldn't stay afloat long enough for an effective rescue."

Does this mean Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are going to reprise their Jack and Rose love story? I mean, I am not opposed to a Titanic movie revamp.
