In 1956, Leroy Van Dyke rocked the world of country music with his co-written hit, The Auctioneer. It swept the world of Country music by storm and topped out at number 9 at the time. Van Dyke's cousin was National Auctioneer Association Hall of Famer, Ray Sims. The song was written about his cousin, as he tells the story of his rise to fame in the auctio world. In 1967, Van Dyke played a budding performer in Country Music in the movie What Am I Bid?. Van Dyke's cousin played himself in the movie.

That movie helped skyrocket Van Dyke's hit song The Auctioneer, and that is the reason it is now stuck in my head! Now, it can be stuck in yours!
