The son of the the late baseball great Tug McGraw was raised by his mother in a low-income neighborhood in Louisiana, and knew his biological father only by what he saw on TV.

McGraw, who got to know his father as an adult, and spent time with him until he passed away from brain cancer in 2004, says his dad still deserves much of the credit for his own success.

The 46-year-old is trying to be a better father to his three teenage daughters than his own father was, which is partly why he gave up alcohol five years ago.

McGraw, who just wrapped up his successful Two Lanes of Freedom tour, had his family in mind when he and his wife, Faith Hill, decided to continue performing their Soul2Soul show at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
