TNT has just ordered a 10-episode reboot of ‘Dallas,’ which will air next summer.

Original ‘Dallas’ stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray are on board. It will also star Jesse Metcalfe and Jordana Brewster.

On the strength of a steady stream of cliffhangers, ‘Dallas’ was a huge hit during much of its run between 1978 and 1990, finishing the year number one in the Nielsen ratings three times.

According to TNT, “The new version will focus on the Ewing offspring — J.R. Ewing’s son John Ross (Josh Henderson of Desperate Housewives), and Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing (Jesse Metcalfe, also of Desperate Housewives) — as they clash over the family dynasty’s future.”

On Monday night, TNT will air previews of the pilot during the season premieres of ‘The Closer’ and ‘Rizzoli & Isles.’

Read on to see Hagman discuss ‘Dallas”s iconic “Who Shot J.R.” storyline.
