Today is World Turtle Day! [VIDEO]

Today marks an annual observance to raise awareness for turtles and tortoises.

Today's reminder is sponsored by the American Tortoise Rescue since 2000, World Turtle Day aims to help raise awareness for the protection and conservation of the endangered marine animals.

A couple of years ago during a heat wave in the country, I noticed a turtle at the roads side. I stopped the car and turned around so I could help the turtle cross the burning hot asphalt. As soon as I was turned around, I saw him running across. I never thought turtles could move so fast. I felt sorry for him; his little feet must having been burning up.
