The Caribbean is still active and the formation of Tropical Storm Michael is proof that hurricane season is still rolling.

Tropical Storm Michael has formed just East of Cancun, Mexico and is expected to strengthen into a Hurricane sometime today.

Right now the storm is located at 20.6 North and 85.5 West with winds at 70mph.  The storm is moving North at 7 mph.

At this time Tropical Storm Michael looks like it will pose no threat to Southwest Louisiana thanks to Mother Nature sending us a cool front our way.

The storm is forecasted to possibly get up to category 2 status before making landfall.  Due to the cold front coming thru, the storm is forecasted to take a turn to the Northeast and make landfall somewhere between the Alabama/Florida state line to the panhandle of Florida.

We will keep our eyes on it for you and give you updates!
