Two Louisiana Legends Celebrate Their Birthdays Today

Today should be a Louisiana holiday as two of the greatest Cajun artists celebrate their birthdays today.  Today is Grammy Award Winners birthdays, Wayne Toups and Joel Sonnier.

Joel Sonnier best known for his legendary version of Jolie Blond, Come On Joe Cajun Born and his country hits No More One More Time and Tear Stained Letter turns 72 years old today.

Joel is one of the most personable people when it comes to his fans.  He loves meeting all of them and talking with them about the music.

One of the pinnacles of his career was when Joel won a Grammy award in 2015 for Best Regional Roots Music Album.

Wayne Toups who also won a Grammy award turns 60 years old today.  From the moment Wayne hit the Louisiana music scene we all knew he was something special.  And over the years he has given us some of the greatest Louisiana songs.

Known for tunes like Please Explain, Take My Hand, Two Step Mamou, Tupelo Honey, and That's What I Love About My Baby just to name a few.
