The baseball team from Baton Rouge, the LSU Tigers back were up against the wall last night in the NCAA Super Regional.  LSU had already dropped game one Saturday night to Coastal Carolina 11-8.

LSU needed to rebound in game to or risk their season coming to an end.  That is because the NCAA Super Regional is a best of three game series.

LSU quickly went down 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning.  LSU clawed their were back with one run to get closer at 2-1.  Then Coastal Carolina grabbed another run to go up 3-1.

LSU was the away team so they had to make a move quickly as innings were going by. LSU left at least 12 men on base.  Twice LSU left the bases loaded.  Well in the top of the 9th, LSU scored two runs to even the game at 3-3 and then loaded the bases but were unable to cash in more runs which proved to be the beginning of the end for LSU.

Coastal Carolina came up in the bottom of the 9th inning and quickly got a runner on base. Then Coastal Carolina's Michael Paez stepped up to the plate and hit a walk off single to score the runner and beat the Tigers 4-3 and win the series 2 games to zero.

This is the first ever trip now for Coastal Carolina to the College World Series in Omaha. The Tigers season ends and they finished 45-21 on the season.
