What’s the Point of the Tiny Pocket on Your Jeans?

You know what I'm talking about, that itty-bitty pocket that's inside the bigger pocket on the front of your jeans. Yeah, it's actually there for a very specific reason!

Not gonna lie, I didn't even know I had a tiny pocket on my jeans. I mean, when would I ever use a pocket that small? I barely use normal sized front pockets. But, it turns out that itty-bitty pocket is there for a pretty legit reason.

According to denim maker, Levi Strauss, the very first pair of jeans were made with a tiny pocket for cowboys to place their pocket watch. Now, this was back in the 1800's, so why are jeans still made with the pocket? Over the years the pocket has been used for multiple functions, such as "frontier pocket, condom pocket, coin pocket, match pocket and ticket pocket."

Oh, so that's what I should be putting in the little pocket of my jeans... yeah, I'm going to continue to not use it.
