LSU Tiger fans who also keep an eye on the NFL are used to seeing former players do well in professional football. They are also used to at least one Tiger player being selected in the first round of the NFL's Annual Selection meeting. That was not the case in last night's first round of the draft.

NFL Analyst Mike Detillier says Tiger fans should expect some familiar names to be flashed across their television screens tonight as the draft moves into its second day with rounds two and three.

Detillier told the Louisiana Radio Network linebacker Deion Jones will most likely be selected early in the second round tonight.

Now he’s moved up into probably the early part of round two. He had a great senior season at LSU, terrific athlete when you see him run, not only forward but in reverse.

Detillier also expects LSU defensive back Jalen Mills will receive a call from the NFL during the second round of the draft.

He’s a second round pick and I think the one thing that sticks out to me is his versatility. Four year starter, competitive, can play man coverage, and has started at cornerback, free safety, and in the slot. There aren’t a lot of guys that can put that on their resumes and he started.

There is also one more player that Detillier feels will have his name called tonight. That is offensive guard Vadal Alexander. Alexander was a four year starter for the Tigers and Detillier believes he would be a great pick up for a team that needs help up front.

He’s worked hard to get his weight down, terrific run blocker, a guy that has learned to stay low, get good push up front. I think he’s still a little work in progress as a technician, pass blocking and he’s a waist bender, not a knee bender but with the lower weight, I think he can be a starter and quickly in the NFL.

Coverage of tonight's second and third round of the NFL Draft will be aired on the ESPN cable network.
