The official beginning of Hurricane Season has passed us. It was Sunday June first and mother nature is wasting no time. We awake this morning to find our first area of disturbed weather in the tropics.

This area of low pressure is currently covering much of the Lower Eastern Gulf of Mexico and some of the Yucatan Peninsula. The good news is that conditions are not favorable for this system to strengthen. it has a zero percent chance of formation in the next 48 hours.

The bad news is that it has appeared so early in a Hurricane Season when all the assumptions call for a milder season. You know what happens when you assume.
