
Green Fentanyl Is Confirmed To Be In Southwest Louisiana By Calcasieu Parish Sheriff
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - Green Fentanyl, the drug making national headlines is now in SWLA making local headlines.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory has confirmed that deputies have seen green fentanyl in SWLA.

Fentanyl Overdoses In America
KPLC is reporting that that drug "poses a significant threat to public health and safety".
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, 60% of the 230 drug overdose deaths that occur in the US each day are caused by synthetic opioids like fentanyl.

What Is Green Fentanyl?
Sheriff Guillory told KPLC:
The new thing with the fentanyl is that they mix it with the horse tranquilizer drug called xylene. That seems to be the newest craze of drugs that people out there on the street are really gravitating to.
Does Narcan Work On Green Fentanyl?
Guillory went on to say that it's very addictive like regular fentanyl, however, because of the added horse tranquilizer it's more difficult to revive someone with Narcan.
New Orleans recently issued public safety alerts about the drug when it started hitting their communities hard.
