Seasons greetings to Veterans and families! Saturday, December 14, from 11 am to 1 pm Once Was Inc. and Louisiana State Police Troop D will team up for the annual Christmas Hams for Heroes.  It's a great way to honor area members of the Armed Forces with a special holiday gift. Knowing how much these brave men and women put on the line every day for us and the country makes this time of year the perfect opportunity to say...THANK YOU.

All Veterans in SWLA are invited to come by the LSP Office (805 Main St.) with their I.D. between 11 am and 1 pm to pick up a free ham for Christmas. This holiday event is part of the Once Was Inc. Service Saturdays initiative.

More than 200 free hams and toys will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies last. For more info about this charitable organization, to donate or volunteer your time, please visit OnceWasInc.com. Below are a few shots from last year's event!

Once Was Inc. is a Veterans community outreach nonprofit that was launched in 2018 by husband and wife duo Petty Officer Michael Edmond (also known as DJ Navy Vet) and his wife, a longtime educator, Raquel Edmond.

Ever since then, this military couple has been on a mission to make sure Veterans in SWLA and Southeast Texas have access to military base facilities, resources, and services in the areas in which they live. Happy holidays and a very Merry Christmas to all!
