Here is an update on school closures from the Calcasieu Parish School Board regarding Hurricane Francine. Thankfully, Southwest Louisiana was not in the direct path of the storm, however, CPSB is continuing to monitor weather conditions throughout the parish.

After assessing school properties it has been determined that all CPSB schools will resume classes as normal on Thursday, September 12. Please be advised that CPSB will confirm if classes will resume with a final weather/Hurricane Francine update to families this afternoon.

Per the CPSB website:

Several of our campuses still under construction due to previous storms, we need to have the opportunity to assess our sites to ensure they are safe for the return of our students, faculty, and staff.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter, and we will continue to keep you informed as Hurricane Francine makes landfall.

We hope all of you remain safe, and our thoughts are certainly with our neighbors to the east as they prepare for the storm.
