It's that time again and we need your help.  The annual Residential Trash Bash is scheduled for April 21st ,2018 in Lake Charles and a chance to rid your residence of unwanted materials that your local trash pick up will not take.

Matt young with the City of Lake Charles told us,

Residents may bring a variety of items for free disposal to this event including electronic devices, products containing mercury including fluorescent light bulbs, confidential paper shredding, all battery types, antifreeze, clothing, sofas, motor oil, and paint – labeled recyclable and reusable latex paint, oil, miscellaneous household trash, and recyclable items including paper, plastic, aluminum and cardboard.

Now with that being said there are certain things they will not take in on April 21st.  They include:

  • Chemical household waste
  • Tires
  • Scrap iron
  • Ammunition or explosives
  • Asbestos materials
  • Freon items
  • Lawn mowers
  • Medication
  • Propane tanks

The event will be from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Chennault International Airport.  Here is your chance to rid your residence of unwanted materials you have been meaning to get rid of for a long time anyway.
