The art of "hillbilly hand fishing" or noodling is poised to become a legal method of fishing in Louisiana. All it needs is the Governor's signature.

Several ponds around Louisiana will be stocked with channel catfish beginning next week as part of the Department of Wildlife's Get Out and Fish program.

The catfish derbies are being held at 13 different locations across the state including several near Lafayette and Lake Charles
