Light Up the Lake

The city of Lake Charles is gearing up for the Christmas holiday with their annual Light Up The Lake celebration.

Originally the Light Up The Lake event was scheduled for a couple weeks ago but Mother Nature didn't want to cooperate so they moved it to this Saturday.

The City of Lake Charles has announced that their big Light Up The Lake Christmas celebration with two parades and fireworks. Here are the details.

A fun part of the annual Light Up The Lake Christmas Celebration in Lake Charles is the Annual Gingerbread House contest and display.

The City of Lake Charles is ready to bring Christmas cheer to the lakefront on Dec. 1 when the "Light Up The Lake" celebration will sail into town.  The best part -- the whole thing is FREE.

It’s time to light up the lakefront in Lake Charles, and it all happens Saturday, Dec. 3. The City of Lake Charles will hold its annual Christmas parade and lighting up of the lakefront.  They plan on having a street parade, lighting up the front of the Civic center, holding a boat parade that night and finishing off the night with a fireworks show. On Saturday, Dec. 3, it will be beginning to look a lot like Christmas along the waterfront as the city’s “Light Up the Lake” celebration kicks off the Yuletide season. In addition to the annual parades -- one on land and one on water – Santa himself will make several appearances as the city lights up the lakefront for the holidays.
