The McNeese State Cowboys have broke the four and four streak with their fifth win in a row. Yesterday the Cowboys beat Sam Houston State 5-2 in Huntsville.

I still say the Sam Houston Bearkats team this year is a lot better than some thought they would be. The McNeese loss in Huntsville last Saturday to the Bearkats has dropped the Pokes out of the top ten in both FCS polls.
McNeese was simply beat on both sides of the ball at Sam Houston and took a 38-22 loss. LSU won 30-27 at Florida with a last second field goal.

With 160,601 votes cast, it’s fair to say that the first Lake Area School Spirit Contest was a success. While it was awesome to see so many votes go to support our students, our hats are off to the winners — Sam Houston High in Moss Bluff, who collared 47 percent of the vote, beating out seven other schools.
