The Food for Seniors Program's food box distribution will be back and running on this Friday, November 20. All pickup sites will remain the same with the exceptions of the St. Henry Catholic Church and Chateau Du Lac locations.

For all seniors who normally pick up their boxes at these locations, they should now pick them up at the Allen P August Multipurpose Center Annex located 2000 Moeling Street in Lake Charles. This location change will remain in place for the next few months, and residents will be informed once normal locations return.

The Food for Seniors Program is a partnership with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury's Human Services Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Catholic Charities, and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. The boxes that are served to the seniors are filled with non-perishable goods and healthy food staples, and are served to seniors who are sixty years of age and older.

The program is always seeking new participants, and you can call 800-522-333, ext. 9666 to register or call 337-721-4030, ext. 5111 or click here.
