Southwest Louisiana can get ready for another local restaurant returning to the Lake Charles area as Area 337 is gearing up for its' return, and it could come pretty soon...

Per KPLC, Area 337 on Kirkman Street burned in an overnight fire in May, and Lake Charles Fire Prevention Bureau investigators said surveillance video showed a person setting the fire intentionally.

In an interview with KPLC in July, owner Gus Garden told reporters "We Will Be Back."  That holds true as the owner and building owner have been working hard to navigate through getting the building back up so that the restaurant can get back to serving the SWLA area.

We spoke with Area 337 Owner Gus Garden, and here are some of the things he had to say...

During the last few months, we didn't want to go anywhere. We were patient with the process. My and my family are coming back, we wanted to stay loyal to Lake Charles as we have since Day one. - Gus Garden (Owner/Area 337)

We were able to speak with Gus Garden, owner of Area 337, and he has assured us that they are working rather quickly to get back up. Area 337 is aiming for a Late October/Early November Re-Open date! This is excellent news for SWLA so we can have another local business back in the Lake Charles area.

We have been working and can't wait to be back in business. We are actually shooting for a late October or Early November re-open date. We are so eager to get back open here in Southwest Louisiana and give Lake Charles the service and food that they have always expected from Area 337 - Gus Garden (Owner/Area 337)

When we get an official open date, we will let the community know when this local restaurant is back to running in SWLA!
