In Louisiana, we love our traditions. We love our food, our culture, and our heritage, and especially love our Cajun music. Growing up in Louisiana, you would be hard-pressed to have never eaten a great Cajun meal or been to a restaurant or festival and not seen a live Cajun music band performing live.

Because we love our music and heritage, the Cajun French Music Association (CFMA)  Lake Charles chapter is one of those groups that makes it a point to celebrate all of the things I was just talking about.

The CFMA will be celebrating local Cajun artists coming up soon as they plan to hold their Hall Of Fame Induction ceremony on Sunday, November 5, 2023, to honor artists and folks who have been playing Cajun music or promoting the heritage their entire lives.

I personally was honored to be inducted into this Hall of Fame back in 2018 as a radio DJ. I have been playing Cajun music on the radio since 1990. The bigger honor was that I was inducted into the Hall of Fame which my father Dave Soileau was already in so It is so cool to be in the same company as my dad and all the other legendary artists and radio personalities who came before me.
