Louisiana Boy Chris Cagle is celebrating his 47th birthday today.  Chris was born on this day in 1968 in DeRidder Louisiana.  When Chris was four years old he and his family moved to Sugarland Texas.

Chris got his start in country music writing songs for David Kersh before Chris got his first record deal with Virgin Records Nashville in 2000.

Cagle made his debut on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts with the single "My Love Goes On and On", the first single from his debut album Play It Loud. The album, which was certified gold in the United States, also produced the Top 10 hit "Laredo" and "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out", his only number one hit.

I got to meet and hang out with Chris back in March here in Lake Charles when he performed live at the Isle of Capri Casino.  We talked music, career and what we like to do on our off time.  I even got the honor of introducing him to the stage.

Sadly, last month Chris Cagle decided to retire from Country music. Chirs Cagle took to his Facebook to make the announcement.  Thanks for 15 years of great music Chris!

Here is Chris Cagle's only Number one hit "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out".
