You may have missed this over the weekend in Lake Charles. Hundreds of women and even some men dressed up as 70s sitcom character Mrs. Roper for an epic bar crawl. The group is called the International Order Of Mrs. Roper SWLA Chapter and their purpose is to have fun and boy did they on Saturday.

Do you even know who Mrs. Roper is? It was a character on the 70s sitcom Three's Company which starred John Ritter, Joyce Dewitt, and Suzanne Sumers. Mrs. Roper was the landlord's wife and was played by actress Audra Lindley.

Lindley's character Mrs. Roper was known for her red curly hair, over-the-top outfits, and dresses. The show ran from 1977 to 1984 and had eight seasons.

On Saturday, the International Order Of Mrs. Roper SWLA Chapter took over downtown Lake Charles and we spoke to one of the board of directors during the event who said they expected to have around 400 people who participated that day by dressing up in wigs and lud dresses.

We were there first hand and yes that number seems about right. There were ladies and some gentlemen dressed up in their best Mrs. Roper outfits bar-hopping from one downtown Lake Charles bar to another. They even took the time to all gather in front of the courthouse for a group picture seen below.

Two groups of Mrs. Ropers arrived in the Buddy Russ Bus and a tour bus and even ventured off to a couple of other bars to spread the Three's Company love. The Mrs. Roper pub crawl was from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in downtown Lake Charles and all had fun.
