Over the weekend, a buzz was happening all over Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles about the huge matchup between the McNeese Men's basketball team. They were set to face off against the Ragin' Cajuns from Lafayette, Louisiana.

On Saturday, the McNeese athletic department announced that the game was sold out with only standing room only tickets available. That means over 4500 tickets for the game were sold for the game and all were gone one day before the game even started. The Legacy Center was filled on Sunday afternoon.

The Pokes went into the contest with a record of 9-2 while the Cajuns were 6-4 on the season. The Cajuns lead the Cowboys at halftime 33-28. After some coaching in the locker room at halftime from head coach Will Wade, the pokes came out in the second half to beat the Cajuns 74-72 to improve to 10-2 on the season.

The crowd was electric and went crazy when the final buzzer sounded and the Cowboys were victorious. Photos and videos flooded the internet and social media with pictures of the stadium, the crowd, and the celebration after the game.

Here are some pictures of the crowd from the game yesterday provided to us by the McNeese Athletic Department.

Wow, what a crowd huh? That is awesome to see Poke Nation turn out to support the Cowboys.

Here is a video that was posted last night of the final seconds of the game and the celebration that ensued afterward by our buddy David Griffin.

The next big test for the Pokes will be next Friday, December 29th when they travel to Ann Arbor to take on Big 10 team Michigan Wolverines. The game will televised on the Big 10 Network.
