It has been one brutal Summer here in Louisiana and for Southwest Louisiana and the Lake Charles area, it seemed like we had a month straight of temperatures of over 100 with the heat index. We don't know the actual number of how many days but it sure seemed like it right?

Lately, it has been pretty nice with morning lows in the low 70s across the area but then in the afternoons, we have been dealing with temperatures rising up into the upper 90s.

Well, good news folks because it looks like Mother Nature is finally going to give us a break and it is coming this weekend. Is this a good sign that Fall is on the way? We sure hope so.

According to the National Weather Service, you should start seeing the change in temperatures coming up on Thursday evening into Friday. You definitely will feel the changes on Saturday and especially on Saturday night.

On Thursday, the National Weather Service is calling for a 40% chance of rain with a high of 88 with a low of 71. We know what you are saying, that's not much of a change. Well hold on and get ready for this.

Friday, another 40% chance of rain is in the forecast with the high reaching only 86 but then the low Friday evening will be 64 degrees. Then the real change will happen on Saturday as we will have partly sunny skies and a high of only 77 on Saturday with a low of 55.

There it is! A LOW of 55. Brind it on right? Well Sunday, the low in Southwest Louisiana could drop to 53 degrees in some areas. YES, we are so excited.

So get ready to see a bunch of gumbo pots and bowls of gumbo on social media because in Louisiana, if the temperature drops below 60, gumbo will be made. Enjoy the upcoming weather.
