Sammy Kershaw Is Coming Back To Lake Charles

Our Louisiana boy is coming back to the lake area. Kaplan, Louisiana's own Sammy Kershaw is coming back to Lake Charles for a big concert.

Did you know that Sammy was born in Kaplan Louisiana? Yes sir, yes ma'am he was. You may have also not known that his cousins are Louisiana music legends, Rusty and Doug Kershaw.

Sammy has been at it for almost four decades now entertaining audiences all over the country. Sammy's first big hit was called Cadillac Style which he released in 1991 and the song went all the way to number three on the charts. He followed that song up with the hit Don't Go Near The Water.

He also scored big with hits like Oklahoma, Yard Sale, Queen Of My Doublewide Trailer, Vidalia, She Don't Know She's Beautiful, Love Of My Life, Third Rate Romance, and more.

Did you know that Sammy was married to Lorrie Morgan who was married to country legend Keith Whitley until he died in 1989? The couple married in 2001 and divorced in 2007.

Known for his unique voice, most of the industry compared his voice to the great George Jones. When George Jones died, Sammy wrote a song about the country legend as a tribute and performed it. His voice in the song will give you chills and make you think that you are listening to George Jones. Check out this video.
