Thomas Rhett's "Die A Happy Man" has been certified 2x Platinum, but it's the real life love story behind the hit that's the real reward.

If you've ever seen the music video for "Die A Happy Man", then you have caught a glimpse of Thomas Rhett's wife, Lauren. When Thomas was planning the video for the love song he knew there was only one woman he wanted in the music video, the inspiration behind the song, his wife.

There's a possibility that you're rolling your eyes and thinking to yourself "There is no way that Thomas and Lauren's love story is as romantic as the lyrics in 'Die A Happy Man'". Well, believe it, because their love story really does sound like something out of a Nicholas Sparks novel.

Thomas Rhett and Lauren Gregory, now Akins, met when they were first graders in Georgia and had a quick high school fling when they were fifteen. Over the years they dated other people, and it wasn't until they were both engaged to other people that Lauren's father intervened.

Thomas' future father-in-law told him "If you don't come over here tonight and tell Lauren how you feel about her, then I'm going to tell her how you feel about her", and the rest is fairy tale worthy history.

After watching the video above and hearing about Thomas and Lauren's love story, it's easy to see how that inspiration created such a huge hit. When the song comes from the heart you can feel it, and you really can feel the love in Thomas Rhett's lyrics and voice in "Die A Happy Man".
