The weekend is here and it's the weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday so what are your plans? There are some great charity fundraisers going on in the area, live music, and a huge holiday shopping event in Lake Charles.

There are two separate charity events going on in the Lake Charles area in memory of our late Buddy Russ Conrad. There is a blood drive being held at Mr. Bills Seafood Express from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Click here for all the details.

There is also a toy drive going on at Coolers on Rayan Street in Lake Charles from Noon until 5:00 p.m.brought to you by Brennan's Blessings and local Mardi Gras Krewe's. They will be collecting toys to help kids who are less fortunate this holiday season.  Here are all the details.

Leroy Thomas and his band The Zydeco Roadrunners will be live at Linda's Louinge on Lake Street in Lake Charles on Friday night. Leroy and the band will hit the stage at 9:00 p.m.

Lake Charles Comedy has teamed up with the Lambda Upsilon chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at McNeese to help raise some money for Southwest Louisiana Special Olympics. The event will be this Saturday, November 18th at Crying Eagle Brewery located on East McNeese Street in Lake Charles and will take place inside the venue.

The McNeese Cowboys will finish the 2023 football season this Saturday, Nov. 18 on the road but they won't be going too far. They will travel to Beaumont to take on Lamar. Kickoff for the game is set for 3:00 p.m. and if you can't make it to the game,  you can listen to it live on 92.9 The Lake.
