Things To Do This Mardi Gras Weekend In Lake Charles & SWLA Feb. 9-13

Well, it is the weekend we have all been looking forward to. It's Mardi Gras weekend in Southwest Louisiana and there are a lot of events going on all over the area. There are concerts, trail rides, Mardi Gras Runs, parades, and throw-in a Superbowl game in that mix, and there is so much to choose from to do.

Let's get you that list here of things to choose from to do this Mardi Gras weekend in Lake Charles and SWLA.

Here is a list of the Major Mardi Gras parades going on in Lake Charles.

• Friday, Feb. 9th, 2024, the Merchant's Parade will be held in Lake Charles. The floats will line up and the parade will start at 7:00 pm.

• On Sunday, the Children's parade will take place but the time has been moved up due to it also being Superbowl Sunday this year. Ryan Street will be closed down starting at 11:30 am Sunday to get ready for the Children's Parade which will take place with an earlier starting time of 1:00 pm and start at the Lake Charles Event Center.

• Tuesday, Feb. 13th, 2024 There are a few parades scheduled for Mardi Gras Day. There will be a Second Line Stroll starting at 1:00 pm followed by the Jeeps On Parade which will start at 2:30 pm. Then at 3:00 pm, it's the Motor Gras parade before the Grand Daddy of them all, The Krewe of Krewe's Parade starting at 5:00 pm.

The 2024 Mardi Gras Gumbo Cookoff will take place on Feb. 10 at the Lake Charles Event Center inside the exhibition hall in Lake Charles. it takes place from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and teams will be cooking it up all morning you can taste every pot of chicken and sausage, seafood, or wild game gumbo in a hot contest on Mardi Gras weekend!

Superbowl 58 will take place on Sunday evening starting at 5:30 pm between the Chiefs and the 49ers. There are a ton of places that will be holding a big game party. Just check out your favorite place to hang out to see if they are having a party.

Keith Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band will be performing live in Lake Charles on Monday, Feb. 12th, 2024 for the 13th annual Lundi Gras party at Cowboys night club located at 5329 Common Street in Lake Charles. Doors open at 7:00 pm and you can pay at the door to get in. 18 and up only.

The Randy Rogers Band will be live Friday night, Feb 9th at the Golden Nuggets and Event Center in Lake Charles. The show starts at 8:30 pm.

The Mardi Gras Zone is a free event that provides a family-oriented, alcohol and tobacco-free area for kids, parents, and teens to enjoy the Mardi Gras festivities. The Zone will be open from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm on Mardi Gras Day, Tuesday, February 13, on the parade route on Ryan Street.

It is located exactly between Pujo and Kirby Streets on Ryan Street and will feature a live DJ, a Bayou Games truck, laser tag, a bounce house, a train ride, and an activity tent. They will be serving hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, and drinks for the kiddos.

The 2024 Eunice Mardi Gras takes place starting on Friday, Feb 9th, and runs through Tuesday, Feb. 13th, 2024. Click here for the entire entertainment lineup for the five-day event.
