It's Mardi Gras Day folks. The day we have all been waiting for and we know that everyone is ready to get out there and have some fun and celebrate. The question now is, what to do today or where should you go?

Just like we do every Friday, we have made a list of things that are going on all over Lake Charles today and tonight for you to go celebrate Mardi Gras.

First, we want to share with you about all the parades that will take place in Lake Charles today.

  • Second Line Stroll starts at 1:00 pm
  • Jeeps On Parade will start at 2:30 pm
  • 3:00 pm, it's the Motor Gras parade
  • The Krewe of Krewe's Parade starts at 5:00 pm

The Krewe of Krewe's Parade route will leave the Lake Charles Event Center and head East down Mill Street then turn right on Ryan Street Downtown, Then the parade will head South down Ryan Street and end in South Lake Charles at Sale Road.

The Mardi Gras in the Zone is a free event for families in a tobacco and alcohol-free area. It will feature a live DJ, a Bayou Games truck, laser tag, a bounce house, a train ride, and an activity tent. They will have hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, and drinks. The event takes place from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm today on the parade route on Ryan Street located in the parking lot between Pujo and Kirby streets.

There is a Mardi Gras Parade afterparty going on starting at 7:00 pm at Linda's Lounge on Lake Street in Lake Charles. The afterparty features Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajun's live in concert from 7 pm to 10 pm. The cover is $10 a person.
