The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, officially known as the Blue Angels, is a flight demonstration squadron within the United States Navy. After the French Patrouille de France, which was founded in 1931, the unit was formed in 1946 and is currently the second-oldest official aerobatic squad in the world. Six Navy and one Marine Corps display pilot make up the squad, which flies Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornets.

At least 60 performances a year at 30 different venues around the US and two shows at one location in Canada feature aerial demonstrations by the Blue Angels. Many of the methods and strategies utilized by the "Blues" during their debut 1946 season are still in use today. Every year from March through November, the squadron performs air demonstrations for 11 million people. Additionally, while at air show towns, the Blue Angels crew members visit over 50,000 individuals in hospitals, schools, and community events. Over 505 million people have watched the Blue Angels fly since 1946.
