It's that time of year again!  Time to make our beaches beautiful again with the annual Beach sweep going on in Lake Charles in September.

The beach sweep is done usually on the 3rd Saturday in September in conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup.

The starting point for the event will be at the Lake Charles Civic Center and starts at 8:00 a.m. and runs through Noon.

Beach sweep officials encourage Individuals, groups, schools, and organizations to get involved and try and participate in collecting litter from our beautiful waterways in Southwest Louisiana.

The beach sweep includes picking up trash from our local beaches, coast lines and shorelines and also at our local boat launches, and inland waterways and bayous.

If you or your group are interested in joining the cause you can contact Blake Trahan at 337-491-1481 or Mason Lindsay at 337-888-5665.  Or you can email Blake at blake.trahan@cityoflc.us..
