[KNGT-FM] - Tiger football fans, rejoice. The 2025 college football season is here, and for the Tigers, the 2025 season begins Saturday night in South Carolina. The Tigers are looking to have a terrific season with Garrett Nussmeier at the helm at quarterback.

The LSU Tigers football program is coming off a 2024 season in which they went 9-4 overall, 5-3 in Southeastern Conference play, and defeated Baylor in the Texas Kinder Bowl to conclude the year.

The LSU Tigers are ranked #9 in the college football preseason AP and Coaches polls to start the 2025 football season. They will start off the season on the road this Saturday when they travel to South Carolina to take on the #4-ranked Clemson Tigers. The game will be televised nationally on ABC at 6:30 pm.

The Tigers will be looking to break a losing streak in season openers since 2020. The last time LSU won its season opener was in 2019 under then-head coach Ed Orgeron and with quarterback Joe Burrow at the helm. That was the year the LSU went all the way and won the National Championship of college football.
